This 1:48 scale model kit by Academy brings you the Dassault Rafale C, as flown by EC 17 ‘Provence' in 2012. While the Academy first hinted the model might be a fresh tool, it turns out this kit is a rebox of Revell's classic Rafale mold, first released over two decades ago.
This kit reflects the history of the Dassault Rafale, a multirole fighter developed after France split from the Eurofighter programme. First flown in 1986 and entering service in 2001, the Rafale has served in multiple combat zones and been exported to several countries.
Inside the box, you get grey styrene parts across seven trees and a clear parts tree. Key features include a detailed cockpit, ejection seat, landing gear, and optional canopy positions, with markings for the French, Qatari, and Egyptian Air Forces.
The kit includes:
- 2 x vertical ejector racks
- 6 x GBU-12
- 2 x supersonic external tanks
- 3 x standard external tanks
- 4 x MICA missiles (radar and/or IR)
- 2 x SCALP-EG
