Though many are still debating whether kids should be allowed to wear makeup or not, some parents are completely supportive of their kids wanting to dress up and glam up. They believe there is nothing wrong with that. Wearing makeup at an early age does not bring harm to children. In fact, it does more good than harm.
Little kids often see their mums prepare every morning for work, or they watch their parents dress up for a party. Of course, even a little bit of makeup is worn to compliment a beautiful outfit. And so kids will become more interested in those tiny pots of colours and glossy tubes on the vanity table. So one day, they will ask their mums if they can try a little bit of those sparkly, colourful face paints. Would you let them or not?
Let's say you decided to let them try it. You asked them to close their eyes and dab a small amount of glittery eye shadow on their lids. They then saw your lips and wanted some lip gloss too. And so you asked them to smile and put a little bit of lip gloss on their lips. You're not sure if they liked it so you lifted them in your arms and face the mirror. Imagine their wide bright eyes and big beautiful smile when they see their made up selves. It makes them happy. A little bit of makeup can add colour to our lives. That's a fact and children should be able to enjoy it too.
There is no definitive age when kids should wear makeup. There are kids who start showing interest in cosmetics as early as preschool years. For them, it's a fun activity. It makes them more beautiful. Why? Because children see their parents as more beautiful when they are wearing makeup too. The world in a child’s eyes is always beautiful. Every person is beautiful in a child's eyes. Wearing makeup is beautiful in a child's eyes. It's understandable why other parents are sceptical about letting their kids play with makeup. There are many factors that contribute to that including the safety of the kids. Parents are often concerned whether there are harmful ingredients in kids' cosmetics or not.
Parents, do not worry too much. Manufacturers of kids' makeup and cosmetics uses only the safest ingredients for children. These cosmetics are made especially for them, so they can have fun while playing with different colours. Other kids are fond of putting different colours on their nails. There are kiddie nail polish too. If they want an easier but more fun way to get their nails done, you should definitely gift them the nail stamper. We're sure they'll love it.
Hair accessories should not be forgotten when you're shopping for new outfits. There are headbands with bows, colourful headbands made with yarn, hair chalk to colour the hair temporarily, and there are hair glitters too. Do you want your hair to be like that of a mermaid's or a unicorn's? Don't forget to include your Disney-themed hairbrush when you go accessories shopping.
In this world where there are many negative things are happening, let us choose to always be positive. Let us be the light that shines brightly, guiding every lost person back to happiness. The fashion industry sets the latest trends and styles, but we are the ones responsible for our own style. There are no beauty standards. We are the standards. We set the standards. Cosmetics, makeup, nail polish and accessories are merely tools to highlight the natural beauty of people, including children. Again, and we could not stress this enough, every person is beautiful. We are all beautiful in our own ways. And makeup is temporary. Believing in yourself is permanent. Dressing up and glamming up are perfect ways for kids to express themselves, so let them. It enhances their confidence, creativity, and talents. We just have to support them in their hobbies. We'll never know, that may lead to them discovering their passion at an early stage.
