The Hornby S&DJR Class 3F Jinty 0-6-0 is a 1:76 scale, 00 gauge model of a classic LMS tank engine, originally based on the Midland Railway 2441 Class. Designed by Henry Fowler, the Jinty was a dependable locomotive used for shunting and short passenger services, thanks to its steam heating system.
In 1928, the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway acquired seven Jintys in its signature Prussian Blue and Black liveries. These locomotives were absorbed into the LMS in 1930, with Locomotive 25 undergoing multiple renumberings before being withdrawn in 1962.
Hornby's finely detailed model features a 3-pole motor and simple gearing, ensuring smooth and reliable performance on any layout. With historical accuracy and excellent craftsmanship, this 00 gauge locomotive is a must-have for collectors and railway enthusiasts.
