The Mandarin Red Holden A9X Torana made its mark in the 1977 Australian Touring Car Championship with the late Bob Jane behind the wheel. It then debuted at the 1977 Bathurst 1000, driven by Jane and Ian Geoghegan, where it qualified fifth but retired early due to wheel damage after 35 laps.

Despite its short-lived race, the car won the Dulux Refinisher Best Appearing Car Award, earning the honor of being the first to roll onto the starting grid. Its racing career lasted just two seasons before a major crash at Amaroo Park in 1979 ended its time on the track, with Garry Rogers at the helm.

Now, this piece of motorsport history is recreated as part of Scalextric's 2024 Catalogue Range, with a limited Australian release of 1,500 models. Designed with precision, it features the authentic livery from its Bathurst appearance, making it a must-have for collectors and racing enthusiasts.
