Turkeys are large bird species of animals that live in North America. Unlike a chicken or a duck, a turkey makes a sound that is described as gobbling-like, as if there are saying, ìgobble, gobbleî. Turkeys eat nuts, berries, seeds, insects and occasionally small frogs or even lizards. Turkeys spend most of their days grazing for food or chatting with one another. At night, they go up in the trees to sleep, which may be surprising because a lot of people think that turkeys cannot fly. Wild turkeys can fly a short distance. Before taking off, they squat down and then use their powerful legs to launch up and fly to escape from predators. They can fly around 100m at a speed of 88 km per hour. This Schleich Turkey is a scaled-down version of the North American turkey. Made with great details and finished off by being hand-painted. This model animal is made from sturdy plastics so it is hardy and can stand on its own. Suitable for ages 3 years and up.
