Young children learn quicker if the learning can occur while stimulating their primary senses. This is known as sensory learning, when the young child can use the sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell senses. This Wood Puzzle Raised Letters Lower Case features colourful lowercase letters of the alphabet and is paired together with a baseboard cut with the shapes of the lowercase alphabets. In essence, it becomes a puzzle-solving activity that is to be solved by fitting the correct lowercase alphabet letter into the correct cut shape on the baseboard. Initially, at the youngest age, the young child will use his or her sight and touch senses to fit the puzzle by matching the pieces to the shaped hole on the baseboard. As the child grows older, the parent can teach the name of the alphabet piece and tell the child where to place it to learn to recognise the alphabet and its name. Suitable for ages 2 and up.
